The Gemini app is an AI assistant. If you opt in to the Gemini app, it will replace your Google Assistant as the primary assistant on the phone. Some Google Assistant voice features aren't available through the Gemini app yet. You can switch back to Google Assistant in settings.
The Gemini app is available only on Android phones with 2 GB of RAM or more, running Android 10 and up.
This official app is free of charge. Gemini gives you direct access to Google’s best family of AI models on your phone so you can:
- Get help with writing, brainstorming, learning, and more
- Summarise and find quick info from Gmail or Google Drive
- Use text, voice, photos and your camera to get help in new ways
- Say “Hey Google” to ask Gemini for help with what’s on your phone screen
- Make plans with Google Maps and Google Flights
If you have access to Gemini Pro it will be right here in the Gemini app.

When I installed this app, everything was great. This AI could create great stories and answer complex and difficult questions. But after a while, I feel that the user interface of this app has many problems. I can't use this user interface properly. I feel that it is very stiff and doesn't load chats properly. Also, this AI has memory problems and some things likeIt repeats story conversations over and over again, which is not what I want. It may also not work properly in producing images

Used it to research something. very useful and helpful. A few suggestions: 1. playback speed (1,25x, 1,5x,..) 2. Playback in background mode 3. Star responses as favorites 4. After switching between answers it starts reading the answers from the beginning. It would be nice if it would continue from where it stopped or if a timeline would be implemented so one can skip parts or jump to desired part 5. Would be nice if one could create its own projects

I’ve been using Gemini as my assistant, and while I like the concept, the experience has been frustrating. The more I use it, the more bugs I encounter. The most annoying issue is with the voice-to-speech feature. Often, when I ask it something, the response cuts off mid-sentence. Also, if I ask a question and it starts loading, it sometimes doesn’t give an answer at all. It’s really frustrating, especially when it’s supposed to be a helpful tool. Hope they fix these bugs soon!
