Sales Strategy and Operations Manager, Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in a management consulting, sales operations, business strategy or corporate advisory role.
  • Experience developing investigative models using spreadsheet software and using presentation software to facilitate communication with stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • Experience in sales operations or strategy planning for public sector sales teams.
  • Experience with compensation management tools (e.g., Anaplan, SAP, OIC, Xactly) and Salesforce reporting.
  • Experience in problem-solving and project management to execute complex strategic and operational initiatives.
  • Understanding Enterprise cloud technologies, emerging artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, and the evolving Public Sector market landscape.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to build relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.

The Business Strategy & Operations organization provides business critical insights using analytics, ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.

As a Sales Strategy and Operations Manager for the Google Public Sector Federal business, you will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to business executives and sales leaders. In this role, you will own high-impact strategic initiatives, including assessing market opportunities, formulating Go-to-Market strategies, and driving the business planning processes for our US Public Sector team. You will use advanced analytics to optimize workstreams, streamline operations, and drive productivity across the sales organization.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $186,000-$270,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional leadership (Sales, Product, Finance, Compensation, Business Intelligence, Marketing) to drive alignment on business goals, forecasting, and strategic planning for your assigned sales teams.
  • Lead the annual planning cycles, including the development of business plans, operating models, resource allocation, territory optimization, and quota design.
  • Structure and execute operational and strategic initiatives by developing comprehensive work plans, synthesizing complex data, leading critical analyses, and delivering actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Oversee the forecasting cadence, CRM data integrity, and business reporting to ensure transparency and accountability for assigned business objectives.
  • Act as a critical escalation point to identify and resolve operational friction in the agreement cycle, streamlining workflows to maximize the time our sales representatives spend in the field engaging with customers.
