Application Engineering Manager, Supply Chain and Logistics

Remote location: Mexico.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in designing and integration of internal and third party applications.
  • 12 years of experience leading and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
  • 12 years of experience in Supply Chain Domain, Logistics, driving engineering and architecture strategies.
  • 12 years of experience programming in Java.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with web-scale databases and building scalable data pipelines capable of aggregating and processing millions of events per day.
  • Experience in Supply Chain domain, developing/supporting business applications.
  • Experience with On-premise and Cloud implementations.
  • Experience deploying machine automation solutions.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA.

About the job

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. You are empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate to meet user and customer needs.

As an Application Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers in meeting the application needs of Google’s internal customers. You have the ability and interest to work on a range of different types of projects and business processes, and have a background that demonstrates this ability. You have a solid technical foundation and the flexibility, talent and aptitude to learn new technologies and lead a variety of projects and teams across the organization.
You will lead projects that involve new technologies or that integrate/implement multiple homegrown and third party applications supporting supply chain and data center business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Work with senior stakeholders to solve problems.
  • Manage an Engineering team responsible for implementing various software products and designing and building internal applications that support internal business processes related to supply chain and engineering operations.
  • Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making within senior-level audiences.
  • Partner with internal business teams in developing the systems goal and delivery roadmaps and ensure your team is delivering with repeatable quality and predictability.
