As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Today, Google Translate is one of the most beloved Google products, helping 1.5 billion people each month across over 200 hundred languages. Large language models are changing the translation space, and have opened the door to help people navigate language barriers in completely new ways. We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to drive model development and evaluation, and build AI-powered features to elevate the Translate experience.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,000-$237,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of major programs. Define scope, establish program governance, and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery by bringing structure and clarity to complex, ambiguous initiatives.
  • Drive alignment with key stakeholders across product, engineering, design, and other partners by acting as a central communication hub. Guide decision-making by clearly articulating program status, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to program goals and schedules. Drive the resolution of blockers and critical issues, escalating when necessary to maintain momentum.
  • Orchestrate complex projects across multiple teams, expertly managing dependencies to ensure a cohesive execution strategy where all contributions are seamlessly integrated.
  • Improve team effectiveness by driving enhancements to our operational processes and program management frameworks, implementing best practices that increase velocity and predictability.
