Strategic Partner Manager, Scaled Music Content Partnerships, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in music, video, media, or entertainment, with external-facing customer interaction.
  • Experience with data analysis, spreadsheet and presentations.
  • Ability to think strategically, translate information into action, and solve critical problems.
  • Ability to proactively analyze situations, identify solutions, and improve processes.
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment and eager to learn about technological concepts, financial models, and relevant policies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, presentation and people skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels, both internally and externally.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

As a Strategic Partner Manager, you will be discussing content-licensing agreements with partners as you are working cross-functionally with colleagues in Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure partners are positioned for success and users enjoy the experience.

In this role, you will initiate and manage day-to-day operations and partner relationships, fielding and prioritizing incoming requests, troubleshooting partner systems around reporting, content management, content ID, and creating periodic reports (i.e. external and internal) on partner performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to grow emerging artists, including workshops, events, and scaled programs.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-potential YouTube artists and music media companies, maximizing watch time, engagement, and audience growth through customized strategies.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key partners, driving growth and advocating for their needs within the organization.
  • Analyze artist and label performance, identify areas for improvement, and streamline operational workflows. Define, model, and analyze key distribution metrics to recommend channel improvements.
  • Work with internal teams (Product, Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Legal) to develop and implement creative solutions for clients and drive overall growth.
