Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in management consulting, sales strategy, business strategy, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 5 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or graduate degree.
  • 13 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations or business strategy.
  • Experience leading and managing high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes innovation, accountability, and high performance, with a proven ability to develop and inspire talent.
  • Deep expertise in multiple critical business areas, with a strong understanding of the broader industry and competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and ability to influence direction and strategy at the executive level.
  • Proven track record of owning decision-making and execution for large, complex projects across multiple teams and business/product areas.

The Business Strategy & Operations organization provides business critical insights using analytics, ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward. We stay focused on aligning the highest-level company priorities with effective day-to-day operations, and help evolve early stage ideas into future-growth initiatives.

The Global News Partnerships team brings a “one Google” face to the news ecosystem to source content used across Google product areas, provide critical support and funding, and shape constructive regulation that is in the best interests of Google and the ecosystem. The News Partnerships Strategy and Operations team are critical business partners in developing partnership strategies, building and aligning operating priorities, and driving global execution. We are critical thinkers, influencers, and leaders with expertise in simplifying the complex and managing scaled programs at pace.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000-$314,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Drive complex, cross-functional projects with end-to-end ownership of select initiatives, run core operational processes (e.g., reporting, planning), and partner with stakeholders across the News Partnerships team to align on global and regional priorities.
  • Provide quantitative analysis (modeling, forecasting, and data-driven storytelling) to executive leaders on high-priority topics, such as partnership and go-to-market strategies, identifying opportunities for growth and resolving operational inefficiencies. 
  • Provide day-to-day strategy and operations support to executive leaders in the Global Partnerships organization (e.g., Directors and VPs), developing clear, simple, and persuasive communications to influence decision-making.   
  • Analyze complex situations and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Leverage market and product expertise to improve organizational performance. Contribute to strategic initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
