Multidisciplinary Program Security Officer, Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience leading personnel security and insider threat/counterintelligence programs either in the Intelligence Community (IC) or the Department of Defense (DoD), or within industry in support of the IC or DOD.
  • 7 years of experience in people management.
  • Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with Polygraph.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in standup, management, and execution of insider threat and counterintelligence programs.
  • Experience in implementing security engineering controls (e.g., DLP, Privileged-Access Management, Zero Trust Architecture) to support insider threat detection and mitigation programs.

About the job

As a Multidisciplinary Program Security Officer, you will lead a personnel security program and oversee the execution of the end-to-end clearance management process. You will serve as the Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) and primary subject matter expert for internal tracking. You will interface with customers, maintain databases, and document security actions.

You will also lead the GPS Insider Threat and Counterintelligence Programs. You will drive efforts to identify, prevent, detect, respond to, and mitigate insider threats. You will protect Google Public Sector's critical assets, including sensitive data, intellectual property, systems, and facilities, from malicious or unintentional actions by insiders and promote a culture of security awareness, accountability, and transparency among employees. You will ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as NIST, and any applicable best practices.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Execute the end-to-end security clearance process for all cleared GPS personnel (e.g., initiation, cross over, indoctrination, VARs, debriefs).
  • Guide Google Public Sector’s efforts to identify, prevent, detect, respond to, and mitigate insider threats.
  • Protect Google Public Sector’s critical assets, including sensitive data, intellectual property, systems, and facilities, from malicious or unintentional actions by insiders.
  • Promote a culture of security awareness, accountability, and transparency among employees and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as NIST, and any applicable best practices.
  • Lead a team of individuals, set and communicate team priorities that support organizational goals.
