Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience with GCP and the gCloud command line.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

The gcloud Command Line Interface (CLI) is the command line interface for Google Cloud. It's a user-friendly, powerful, and reliable CLI for Google Cloud, empowering developers and DevOps to seamlessly manage and innovate on our platform.
In this role, you will build the tools, infrastructure and enable product teams to create quality Application Programming Interface (API) surfaces in gcloud CLI. Your role encompasses; building tooling to simplify CLI development, streamlining CLI testing, security and release, simplifying the operations of the gcloud CLI tools and platform and defining and building the tools for enhancing generation, validation, and execution of gcloud commands in Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead the evolution of the product and platform infrastructure as a TL of the gcloud CLI team.
- Design, develop, and launch solutions in gcloud which includes customer experience enhancements and optimizing producer teams experience.
- Ramp up the team by identifying and implementing architectural improvements to make the surfacing Cloud APIs to gcloud CLI simpler to build and faster to release.
- Help define and build gcloud Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools and integrations which enhance users' experiences in operating on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services within Agentic applications like Gemini CLI, Gemini Cloud Assist (GCA), and within gcloud CLI.
- Mentor and develop the team of engineers who are passionate and knowledgeable and be the one who cares about developing a strong working group and culture.
