Schedule and Estimating Lead, Technical Program Management

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Telecommunications or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 2 years of experience with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6) and cost estimating tools.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in construction scheduling and estimating, with a significant portion of that experience in a leadership role on large-scale, complex projects.
  • Experience working with contractors and General Contractors in a infrastructure environment.
  • Experience managing construction cost and schedule programs including scheduling, change order review, review and approval of proposals, invoicing, pay applications, risk management, and value engineering.
  • Experience with mission-critical projects, ideally within the telecommunications or related infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience with cable landing station construction and data center projects.

About the job

The Global Construction Program Schedule and Estimating Lead is a critical role within the pre-construction function, responsible for the development, maintenance, and oversight of the strategic program schedule and cost estimates for all global construction projects, specifically focusing on mission-critical Cable Landing Stations (CLS). This role will provide strategic oversight in estimating, cost-planning, scheduling, and program control, ensuring these complex and time-sensitive projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, integrated strategic program schedule encompassing all global cable landing station construction projects, incorporating key milestones, dependencies, and resource allocation.
  • Provide expert guidance on scheduling methodologies, best practices, and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6). Train and mentor project teams on scheduling processes, with a focus on techniques for optimizing schedules for mission-critical cable landing station delivery.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of accurate cost estimates for all phases of cable landing station construction projects, from initial concept to final closeout. Implement cost control measures and track project expenditures against budgets. 
  • Identify and assess potential schedule and cost risks, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Provide Vendor & Service Provider Management: selection, onboarding, performance evaluation, and relationship management of vendors and service providers related to scheduling, estimating, and project controls.
