Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience troubleshooting technical issues for internal/external partners or customers.
- 5 years of experience in mainframe migrations.
- Experience leading and closing migration agreements, managing the full life-cycle from discovery to execution.
- Experience with z/OS and AS/400 environments, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, IMS, DB2, VSAM, and assembler.
- Experience implementing agentic AI frameworks and AI agents to automate software engineering workflows and code transformation.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or Applied Science, or a related field.
- Experience communicating technical risks and digital transformation roadmaps to C-suite stakeholders (e.g., CTO, CIO, CFO).
- Ability to build, configure, and demonstrate technical proof-of-concepts (POCs) and demo environments.

As a Mainframe Migration and Modernization Specialist, you will drive a legacy transformation initiative, helping our customers transition from traditional environments to modern cloud architectures. You will operate as a "player-coach," utilizing a blend of technical expertise in mainframe and midrange systems (such as AS400 and others) and sophisticated Go-To-Market (GTM) execution.
In this role, you will build demos, leading in-depth technical workshops, and closing migration agreements. You will work closely with CIOs and CTOs to understand their modernization objectives and issues and influence their perspective of Google and partner solutions. You will advocate Google and partner solutions to de-risk migrations, develop business cases and drive GCP adoption.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Own the mainframe migration business pipeline, guiding prospects from initial curiosity to signed agreements. Design and execute repeatable sales plays for migration patterns like Agentic AI-based rewrites, re-hosting, and automated conversion.
- Build and deliver technical demos showcasing automated code conversion, data migration, and hybrid-cloud integration. Lead whiteboarding sessions on goals architecture, performance, data consistency, and testing.
- Map current mainframe environments to design phased and de-risked transition architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Author technical whitepapers, migration blueprints, and case studies.
- Develop and deliver training programs for Global Systems Integrators (GSIs) and internal sales teams.
