Trust and Safety Analyst, Geo

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cyber-security, or related fields.
  • 4 years of experience in data analysis including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • 4 years of experience with delivering analysis projects and working on open-ended problems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in Technology, Product Policy, Trust and Safety or related fields.
  • Experience in communicating analysis results to executive management.
  • Experience in data analysis (SQL, Python), problem-solving, operations, and execution.
  • Experience in policy/program management, user and merchant experience, business strategy, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of content moderation, policy enforcement, customer support or policy creation with the ability to solve operational or policy problems, working with various cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, communication and people management skills, with the ability to articulate policy concepts.

Our Trust and Safety team has the critical responsibility of protecting Google's users by ensuring online safety by fighting web abuse and fraud across Google products. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic leader. You understand the user's point of view and are passionate about using your combined technical, sales and customer service acumen to protect our users. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google developers and Product Managers to navigate challenging online safety situations and handle abuse and fraud cases at Google speed (read: fast!). As a Trust and Safety Strategist, you are responsible for protecting the integrity of some of Google's key products, including Google Search, Google Maps, Google Ads, AdSense, Google Checkout and Google Product Search. You investigate financial fraud, account-related abuse, questionable business practices, violations of Google's policies, and general misuse of our products. You are introduced to dynamic analytical techniques and you leverage custom-built technology to have a direct impact on improving the experience of millions of Google users. You subscribe to a "user-first" philosophy and are interested in improving Google's user experience and product integrity. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You harness your analytical and technical skills to drive tool development and process improvements.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders across Geo Engineering, Product and Operation teams globally to solve open ended abuse problems for Maps.
  • Leverage AI and ML technologies to build solutions for solving abuse problems. Initiate and lead abuse- and harm-fighting and mitigation projects.
  • Conduct the Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) analysis, develop monitoring, and error resolution to create well-defined processes. Support data-oriented decision-making based on analysis, insight and keeping user trust at the forefront.
  • Drive analysis, defining ways to enhance business performance and ensure execution within relevant Product Area, function, or sub-function. Strengthen global collaboration.
  • Manage project planning, status reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, and project documentation. Manage project work and lead working groups.
