Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in enterprise development/architecture and 4 years of experience in client-facing cloud advisory.
- Experience architecting cloud-native applications using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), serverless, and core Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
- Experience in requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, and de-escalation in Japanese enterprises.
- Experience in microservices, event-driven/API-first design, domain-driven design (DDD), and distributed patterns.
- Experience programming in Python, Java, Go.
Preferred qualifications:
- Certifications in Google Cloud (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud Developer).
- Experience leading architectural aspects of customer-facing GCP application migrations, from discovery to guiding implementation.
- Experience with Agentic AI implementation and Large Language Model (LLM) prompt engineering.
- Experience designing GCP application interactions: data flows, API strategies, inter-service communication (REST, gRPC, event streams).
- Ability to review and understand existing application code to inform re-architecture and modernization strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders on architectural decisions.

As a Cloud Consultant, you will work directly with Google’s most strategic customers on critical application development and modernization projects to help them transform their businesses. You will provide expert solution architecture consulting and technical leadership to customers, working with client executives and key technical leaders to guide the architectural direction and adoption of modern applications and design that connects raw Google Cloud Platform AI capabilities with scalable, functional enterprise software.
In this role, you will lead customers through complex application architectures and agentic AI efforts, focusing on solution patterns for application scaling, reliability, and effective integration with GCP services. You will translate these strategies into practical, buildable architectural blueprints and provide strategic technical guidance, prototype, demonstrate, and validate key architectural decisions. Additionally, you will work closely with product management and product engineering ensuring every project is treated like a high-stakes product launch.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor on solution architecture to Japanese enterprise customers development leads, client executives, and partners, translating complex business needs into buildable agentic AI enabled blueprints.
- Lead the design of non-abstract large systems, and modernization roadmaps for cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform, aligning with complex customer requirements and promoting architectural best practices.
- Manage the technical life-cycle of application development engagements using a product launch mindset, ensuring solutions move from initial validation to production-ready states with architectural guardrails.
- Interact with sales, partners, and customer technical stakeholders to manage project scope, priorities, deliverables, risks and issues, and timelines for successful client outcomes.
- Involve in significant engagement with local clients, including onsite presence as required.
