Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in interaction design, human computer interaction, industrial design or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience within design, or 13 years with an advanced degree.
- 10 years of experience with product, service, and solution design.
- 5 years of experience in brand, motion, or visual design.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience using design to influence strategic decision making, communicate strategic concepts, and facilitate understanding.
- Experience developing an identity for an emerging product within a larger product ecosystem.
- Experience translating ambiguous asks and directions into clear user-centric approaches.
- Experience fostering divergent design thinking and advocating for radical ideas that can truly evolve products.
- Ability to drive impact across multiple cross-product initiatives with a complex group of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate positions to influence and challenge partners with new design thinking through storytelling.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $253,000-$363,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Own and direct the creation of Google’s shopping visual design language and system for use globally and across the product portfolio.
- Produce design strategies across the shopping portfolio, including opportunity identification, cross-product strategy creation, provocative product visions, and cross-portfolio user journeys.
- Own emergent, highly complex, and ambiguous opportunities from inception to a landed proposal. Frame opportunities, potential experience solutions, and drive initiative direction in partnership with key functional peers.
- Provide consultation to marketing on retail moments campaign creation; act as the conduit between product design and other creative functions.
- Set the standard and foster a culture for creative design practices; influence senior leaders on the visual identity of Shopping.
