Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in UX writing, content design, technical writing, writing, editorial, marketing, or related, as well as leading content strategy projects.
  • Experience on UX-focused product writing and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Experience in UX-focused consumer product content design and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in writing, editorial, marketing, or UX writing in an agency setting.
  • Experience partnering with product and engineering teams, UX design, and research and managing accelerated timelines.
  • Experience collaborating with UX Design and Research to develop and improve user experiences.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and interact with senior leadership.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguity, with a proactive self-driven approach in a cross-functional organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a portfolio showcasing copywriting and content analysis.

About the job

As a UX writer, you are an advocate for Google design, shaping product experiences by creating useful, meaningful text that helps users complete tasks. You help set the vision for content and drive cohesive product narratives across multiple platforms and touch points. As a stellar writer, your portfolio of work demonstrates content that simplifies and beautifies the overall user experience. You work with people in a variety of UX design-related jobs including researchers, product managers, engineers, marketing and customer operations. Collaborating with each, you strive to establish cohesive language and a unified voice across products and platforms. You regularly use empathy, logic and data to inform content choices and recommendations that include the right words and sometimes complementary data and images.

In this role, the team designs and scales content that’s engaging, trustworthy, and easily understood to help people unlock AI in Search. You will design the product content experience and own governance of content standards and quality. You will also own the content strategy for generative AI content experiences globally in countries and languages of focus.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to build and evolve AIM and AIO experiences.
  • Lead content design for key work streams; scope opportunities, set the plan, and deliver high-quality UX deliverables that shape product experiences.
  • Influence UX and cross-functional partnerships to align stakeholder expectations, drive understanding and alignment, and advocate for user-focused content experiences by analyzing or anticipating user needs and gaps.
  • Define and drive the creation of UX writing and content design frameworks and holistic content strategies for user experiences, including principles, patterns, and systems, and tailor deliverables based on product or platform requirements.
  • Own outcomes for multiple projects or programs by setting or communicating product direction and priorities that have significant impact across teams.
