Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/business-oriented field (computer science, economics, mathematics, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in a Chief of Staff role or in Management Consulting/Strategy & Operations.
- 10 years of experience in managing projects in Engineering or Product management organizations.
- 5 years of managing a team with experience in global organizations.
Preferred qualifications:
- Ability to navigate Google to ensure successful implementation of the Merchant Shopping strategy and to communicate that strategy/feedback across all levels.
- Ability to take inputs from across Google, industry partners, merchants and regulators, analyze these inputs, and ultimately deliver a Merchant Shopping strategy for Google in the multi-channel retail landscape.
- Ability to work with the cross-functional leaderships to tie the strategy to an achievable operating plan including OKRs, etc.

Google is seeking a Director, Chief of Staff to the VP/GM of Merchant Shopping. The Chief of Staff works closely with senior executives and their leadership teams to help them effectively run their team and business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $246,000-$354,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Merchant leadership to align on strategic evolution and goal development.
- Manage business cadence, encompassing key communications, reporting (OKRs, QBRs, annual planning), and cross-team alignment for impactful decision-making; support event and communication planning.
- Monitor critical priorities, deliver data-driven insights, and recommend agile adjustments.
- Act as a VP proxy, fostering strong senior leader relationships across Product, Engineering, and various cross-functional teams, facilitating collaborative opportunities.
- Facilitate executive and organizational decision-making by anticipating challenges and providing data-supported trade-offs. Drive talent and culture initiatives with HR, including recruitment, performance management, and retention.
