Technical Program Manager III, Intel and Abuse Escalations, Geo

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in abuse escalation, incident response or security incident management.
  • Experience with machine learning technology or platforms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience working in highly cross-functional situations - building consensus.
  • Ability to debug issues of a technical nature, partnering with engineering teams.
  • Excellent organization skills, along with experience in bug tracking and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate in multiple formats to various audiences along with presenting at executive level.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive the continuous improvements to our escalation response processes to meet key Objectives and Key Results.
  • Partner with key senior stakeholders in Engineering, Legal, Analytics and Public Relations to support our escalation responses.
  • Leverage technical skills to identify system vulnerabilities to recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional Intel teams to share abuse mitigation strategies.
  • Leverage the excellent communication to ensure stakeholders and executive leadership have timely and accurate information on high profile escalations.
