TV Platform Partner Engineer, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or HTTP).
  • Experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
  • Experience in technical troubleshooting, and managing internal/external partners or customers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with data analysis and SQL queries.
  • Experience in the media industry, including television and video technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting web technologies such as XML, HTML.
  • Experience developing and running services or scripts built in C++, Python, or Javascript.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, multitasking, and communication skills.

About the job

The media industry is changing and our team is focused on building the future for YouTube, including products like YouTube TV and Primetime Channels. As a TV Partner Engineer, you will be responsible for YouTube’s technical integrations and workflows with media companies.

YouTube/Video Global Solutions is the link between Google video products and sales. Our mission is to fuel innovation that keeps YouTube and Video free and accessible to the world. We do this by translating global market needs into meaningful product solutions that drive business results for content partners and customers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $94,500-$139,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Identify and deliver various operational workflows and tools (i.e., web-based and command line scripts) between partners (both external content partners and internal operations) and YouTube.
  • Improve content and ads operations by developing automation scripts and dashboards. Improve product feature offerings by providing feedback to internal cross-functional teams, including Product Management and Engineering.
  • Guarantee the technical aspects of a partner’s integration (both new and ongoing) by providing necessary documentation and technical guidance either directly or through scaled teams.
  • Support Partners and internal teams through technical troubleshooting, and enhancing documentation and processes. Capture trends across partners and advocate their needs internally.
