Senior Technical Program Manager, SLED, Google Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% to Albany, New York as required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in Project Management Professional.
  • Experience in building relationships with government officials and C-level stakeholders by developing an understanding of the customer business and delivering data-motivated insights.
  • Experience in working with new and emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud and enterprise technology transformation environment.
  • Experience in leading the end-to-end business cycle for professional services engagements.
  • Experience in delivering digital transformation projects to organizations.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of orchestrating and optimizing a portfolio of technical transformation engagements that drive significant value and improve constituent experience. You will be on providing program and portfolio oversight, leading initiatives, and collaborating with the technical and program teams executing the work. You will provide thought leadership, technical direction, and delivery management expertise, collaborating with cross-functional Google executives, business teams, and key technical leaders including Architects, Engineers, and executive client stakeholders like Chief Technical Officer (CTOs) and Chief Information Officer (CIOs). You will oversee programs involving numerous technical and program team members, ensuring successful planning and deployment of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions.Google Public Sector brings the magic of Google to the mission of government and education with solutions purpose-built for enterprises. We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments and grow our team to meet the complex needs of local, state and federal government and educational institutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and delivery of a portfolio of multi-year technical transformation engagements for Google’s public sector customer in New York, overseeing execution across multiple program teams and partners.
  • Serve as a partner to the Go-to-Market team, leading the end-to-end business cycle for professional services engagements in New York. Identify customer tests and needs to position Google Cloud products and solutions, driving account growth.
  • Provide thought leadership, consulting, and technical direction for customer engagements and the program portfolio. Collaborate with Google’s cross-functional executives and technical leaders to oversee solution planning and deployment, evaluate technical data, and guide technical decision-making to ensure sound direction and excellence.
