Principal Product Manager, YouTube Music and Media Payments

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in product management including providing strategy development, data-influenced planning, prioritization, and directing launches.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading complex projects with multiple partners and stakeholders.
  • Experience defining, executing, and delivering against goals to drive business impact.
  • Experience using machine learning to solve user problems.
  • Deep understanding of the creator economy and how to anticipate and shape evolving trends.
  • Ability to represent and promote complex business or technical concepts internally and externally.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

We turn their passions into businesses and ensure fair payment for the use of their content on the platform with the largest revenue sharing program in the creator economy.

As the Principal Product Manager for YouTube Music and Media Payments, you will drive strategy and execution for earnings, payments, and reporting to our large enterprise partners. You will shape the future of the creator economy and define how media and music partners monetize across the many formats and ways to earn on YouTube. You will build scalable payment solutions to handle the increasing complexity of our ecosystem and partner closely with our business team to meet the needs of our largest partners.

In this role, you will lead YouTube's strategy and product roadmap across media and music partner payments, delivering a transformative impact to Google. By deeply understanding partner needs across YouTube’s complex ecosystem, you will define the vision and make critical product decisions that directly shape the future of the creator economy and help our largest partners be more successful on YouTube.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $272,000-$383,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and own the YouTube media and music partner payments product vision and roadmap across all formats and ways to earn. Ensure we make accurate and timely payments across our complex ecosystem of partners. 
  • Drive strategic alignment and buy-in at the C-suite level by collaborating on solutions with cross-functional leaders across YouTube.
  • Align product efforts with overarching business objectives and business generation strategies.
  • Grow and develop a high-performing product team by attracting, growing, and retaining exceptional talent.
