Business Analyst, Youtube Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Quantitative Science, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience working in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
  • 1 year of experience in statistical problem solving and analyzing data sets using SQL or comparable coding language (e.g., Python, R, Java, C++).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in data analysis, with the ability to solve problems in a changing and ambiguous business environment through solid data intuition.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques (e.g., Plx Dashboards, Tableau, Matplotlib, etc.).
  • Understanding of data pipeline concepts and tools.
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts and methods (e.g., descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, correlation).
  • Ability to effectively communicate analysis and recommendations across a wide range of non-technical audiences.

As part of this team you fully immerse yourself in data collection, draw insight from analysis, and then zoom out to develop compelling, synthesized recommendations. Taking strategy one step further, you also persuasively communicate your recommendations to senior-level executives, roll-up your sleeves to help drive implementation and check back-in to see the impact of your recommendations.

As an Associate in Business Operations and Strategy, you are the ultimate data expert and thrive on solving highly analytical problems, conducting interviews and synthesizing ideas. You will work with a small team on projects commissioned by Google's executive team, managing your own workstream(s) as you go.

The YouTube Trust and Safety team is dedicated to making YouTube a safe place for users, viewers, and content creators around the world to create, and express themselves. Whether understanding and solving online content concerns, navigating global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policy, the Trust and Safety team is on the front lines of enhancing the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of this mission, using data to protect our users from harmful content and ensure a safe experience for everyone. You will be the analytical engine that powers the safety of a global platform, and your work will have a direct and meaningful impact on the well-being of millions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, build, and monitor metrics related to Trust and Safety content review operations. Generate insights to optimize efficiency, quality, and other measures of operational performance.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand varied business requirements and build reporting solutions with breakdowns of key metrics to answer these questions.
  • Design and conduct experiments to measure operations impact of new features, products, and review workflows. Communicate results clearly to stakeholders with actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain multi-stage data pipelines for generating metrics and applying access controls to ensure compliance when sharing sensitive data across a global workforce.
