Strategy and Operations Lead, Regulation, AUNZ (Fixed-Term Contract)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with go-to-market strategy, sales operations, strategy and operations, management consulting, finance, or program management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in working with strategy in ambiguous settings, with strategy implementation.
  • Knowledge of the Australian regulatory and policy environment.
  • Excellent executive presence and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent business acumen and judgement.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to present problem statements, perform data analysis and investigations, and provide recommendations that drive commercial value.

About the job

The Go-to-Market Operations (GTM) team ensures Google's business runs smoothly by aligning priorities with execution.

In this role, you will act as a key business partner to the Country Manager, driving sustainable growth through process improvements and data-motivated insights. You will problem solving and qualified strategist and project manager, capable of providing clarity and building relationships across local and global cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes. You will develop strategies that support leadership decision making, cross-functional alignment of goals and expectations, and help teams to execute plans. You will develop and drive business strategy in collaboration with the executive business partners, acting as a trusted advisor, prioritiser and direction setter. You will help the organization navigate internal complexities, external factors, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to set strategy, solve problems, and design, manage, and deliver projects. You will help to set the focus, pace and direction of the business across teams to deliver on business opportunities by advocating, testing, and enabling the cross-functional teams. You will focus on partnering with the cross-functional Australia and New Zealand (AUNZ) leadership, particularly around regulatory topics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cross-functional plans, and deliver insights and recommendations that shape the AUNZ operating strategy. Define and solve problems and opportunities that impact the corporate reputation.
  • Partner with the Google AUNZ leadership team and global stakeholders to provide guidance and coordination on regulatory topics.
  • Establish and maintain business cadences and internal stakeholder relationships to deliver together on priorities and best practices.
  • Develop external intelligence and insights in the market, to enable cross-functional decision-making. Collaborate with executive stakeholders through strategy development and program management.
  • Lead planning and execution for the AUNZ business, collaborating with the cross-functional leadership team to identify and prioritize key focus areas. Enhance initiatives by incorporating program management best practices, data-motivated insights, and executive communication strategies.
