Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
- Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
- Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise sales.
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships, drive strategic initiatives, and negotiate complex deals at a senior level.
- Proven ability to advocate for sell-side partnerships within Google and collaborate on strategic opportunities and problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills to convey business and financial insights to various audiences, including executive presentations and public forums.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with creativity, tenacity, curiosity, and strong collaboration skills, coupled with enthusiasm for Google products and technical understanding.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on partnership success.
About the job
The Canada Sellside team works with Canada’s largest media companies to help them transform and grow their digital products and business. With a specific focus on Google's Sellside Monetization platforms (Google Ad Manager, AdMob, AdSense), we advise on our partners' programmatic media business and support their broader partnership across relevant Google products.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a book of business within our Apps & Commerce vertical. You will lead the relationship with some of Canada’s largest media companies, leveraging the best of Google’s products and platforms to grow their digital media business. You'll join a team that aims to challenge and push boundaries on behalf of our partners. In addition, you will work cross-functionally to drive a holistic 'One Google' approach to your partners’ businesses and build strong relationships with C-level representatives to empower partners to manage digital transformation.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with top partners within Apps & Commerce, establishing a strong industry presence through active participation in relevant events.
- Originate and structure business generation partnership agreements, renewals, and amendments, covering all commercial, pricing, legal, and operational aspects, serving as the primary liaison with internal support teams.
- Develop and lead the annual business plan for Apps & Commerce partners, defining business targets, strategic initiatives and OKRs, and providing quarterly progress reports.
- Ensure partner business performance by working closely with Revenue Leads to assess optimization efforts and by communicating partners' evolving business strategies and goals.
- Gain a holistic understanding of how Google's full product suite can meet partner needs ('One Google perspective') by developing deep insights into their vertical and core business.
