Partner Engineer, Pixel

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience managing carrier certification of smartphones and connected wearable devices including scheduling, testing, or execution.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience with cellular radio technologies and features such as 2G/3G/4G LTE, VoLTE, 4X4 MIMO, 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) and Standalone (SA), antenna design, etc., and their deployments among global cellular network operators.
  • 5 years of experience in modem/telephony technology stack and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in testing of LTE/5G connected devices.
  • Knowledge of carrier certification processes for Global carriers.

In this role, you will be working with cross-functional teams for on-time certification and testing reports delivery. You will consolidate all the carrier certification and test reports requirements with the consideration of the goal timelines to draft certification and testing schedules. You will make sure the testing start and end date is secured. You will maintain regular updates from the external parties and also share the latest updates with the internal teams. You will collaborate with development teams for troubleshooting and assist them to fix the issues efficiently and effectively.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the carrier Type Approval (TA) process including carrier requirements delivery, sample management, certification schedule, and packaging requirements, for Pixel products.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. Collaborate with Android and software teams to triage and prioritize Carrier-related issues.
  • Work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate  with cross-functional partners of the company. Maintain regular updates from the external parties and also share the latest updates with the internal teams.
  • Collaborate with other carrier program managers in the team on program updates and represent in product meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with the launch team to optimize the On-shelf date for the product.
