Senior Strategic Consultant, Mandiant, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience assessing and developing cybersecurity solutions and programs across multiple security domains.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time as needed.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certifications related to specific Cloud Platforms Industry-standard cloud certifications (e.g. CCSP, CCSK, etc.), or other industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.)
  • Experience implementing industry-leading practices around cyber risks and cloud security for clients cloud security frameworks using industry standards.
  • Experience with Security tools and operations.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Ability to provide guidance on building or transforming cyber security programs and the implementation of technologies used for enterprise security, and provide advice on best practices for managing the cyber security risks during digital transformation as organizations.

About the job

As a Security Consultant, you will be responsible for helping clients effectively prepare for, proactively mitigate, and detect and respond to cyber security threats. Security Consultants have an understanding of computer science, operating system functionality and networking, cloud services, corporate network environments and how to apply this knowledge to cyber security threats.

As a Security Consultant, you could work on engagements including assisting clients in navigating technically complex and high-profile incidents, performing forensic analysis, threat hunting, and malware triage. You may also test client networks, applications and devices by emulating the latest techniques to help them defend against threats, and will be the technical advocate for information security requirements and provide an in-depth understanding of the information security domain. You will also articulate and present complex concepts to business stakeholders, executive leadership, and technical contributors and successfully lead complex engagements alongside cross functional teams.

The Senior Strategic Consultant will lead consulting engagements to enhance clients' post-incident response. You'll collaborate with client teams on implementation, risk assessment, and disaster recovery, while providing guidance on overall security program development. You will lead data recovery efforts, including working with backup and recovery solutions. Additionally, you'll work across teams to implement cybersecurity controls. The primary goal for you is to create long-term remediation road-maps for our clients post-incident through tactical understanding of their current risks and gaps.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000-$193,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Led execution of consulting engagements and development of deliverables from start to finish with a goal to transform security programs post incidents.
  • Collaborate with client security and IT operations teams to implement eradications and remediation plans and ensure the successful restoration of affected systems following incidents.
  • Evaluate and support clients with implementing hardening controls across diverse technologies and platforms, vulnerability patching, and configuration changes.
  • Development and implement comprehensive recovery plans for both on-premise and cloud environments to ensure data and systems can be restored to their pre-incident state.
  • Assess environments that have experienced a cyber incident, document detailed eradication, remediation, and recovery execution guides and tracking documents, and support the execution of coordinated remediation and recovery efforts.
