Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber-security, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working in the incident response investigations, analysis, or containment actions.
  • 3 years of investigative experience with network forensics, malware triage analysis, cloud forensics, or disk and memory forensics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certifications in cloud platforms.
  • Experience in security competitions, Capture the Flags (CTFs) or testing platforms such as Hack the Box, TryHackMe, Overthewire, etc.
  • Ability to communicate investigative findings and strategies to technical staff, executive leadership, legal counsel, and internal and external clients.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.

About the job

Mandiant Services provides industry-leading incident response, assessment, transformation, managed detection and response, and training services with support. Mandiant helps organizations detect and respond to threats and reduce the overall impact of business risk before, during, and after an incident. Our incident responders are able to resolve security incidents with complete incident response including investigation, containment, remediation, and crisis management.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing analysis support under deadlines to a team of Mandiant Incident Responders during critical security incidents and have the ability to grow their technical skills through exposure to new technologies, environments, and novel attack techniques. You will provide analysis support for Incident Response services and perform host, network, log, and cloud based forensics. You will develop customer reports on data from multiple sources, including forensic data, threat intelligence, network device, and other telemetry and present technical material in an organized manner. You will support client containment and remediation implementation activities and maintain knowledge of tools and best practices to respond to the Tools, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for nation-state, financially motivated, and opportunistic threat actors.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is CAD 134,000-137,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and customer teams to investigate and contain incidents.
  • Recognize and codify attacker Tools, and Procedures and Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) that can be applied to current and future investigations.
  • Conduct host forensics, network forensics, log analysis, and malware triage in support of incident response investigations.
