Program Manager, Hardware Compliance and Product Lifecycle

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • 5 years of experience in environmental compliance or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in environmental standards and regulations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience making decisions independently, prioritizing work assignments, managing multiple deadlines, and respecting diverse individuals and cultures.
  • Experience with Electromagnetic Compatibility, Safety, Homologation and enabling environmental data collection systems.
  • Experience with EU Regulations, including; Restriction of Hazardous Substances, REACH (Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals), Substances of Concern in Products, Toxic Substances Control Act, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, Extended Producer Responsibility and other environmental regulatory regimes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage submissions / reporting related to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for Batteries, inclusive of applicable levies.
  • Monitor, research and analyze WEEE / Battery regulations in Europe. Liaise with national authorities, industry specialists and external bodies related to Extended Producer Responsibility.
  • Conduct Environmental Compliance evaluations, testing, certification, and registration as applicable for a diverse portfolio of products.
  • Work with manufacturers and other suppliers to collect and conduct environmental data campaigns, such as REACH / SCIP / TSCA.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall Google-wide sustainability goals, engagement with suppliers, tools development and full material declaration (FMD) collection and management.
