About the job

As Director, you will be part of the Infrastructure and Solutions Group (ISG), and will focus on Google Distributed Cloud. Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) is a portfolio of hardware and software solutions that extends Google Cloud infrastructure and services to the edge and into data centers. It is designed to address challenges such as regulatory compliance, network survivability, local data processing, and low latency. The two main offerings are GDC Air-Gapped, which is a fully standalone, isolated solution for highly sensitive or classified workloads that requires no connectivity to the public cloud or internet, and GDC Connected, which is a fully managed service that maintains a link to Google Cloud for centralized management while processing data locally at the edge.

In this role, you'll work directly with vice presidents, business executives and cross-functional leaders. You will utilize a blend of operational excellence and strategic leadership to define the execution strategy and overall business success across the Google Distributed Cloud portfolio. You will act with a general manager mindset, manage ambiguous challenges, immerse yourself in data collection, draw insight from analysis, apply sound business judgment, and develop compelling, synthesized recommendations for executive leadership, grounded in data. You will manage strategic initiatives that include assessing market opportunities, developing Go-to-Market strategies and driving the associated business planning processes.

  • Work with the cross-functional leadership team (Vice Presidents and Directors across sales, product, finance, marketing, legal, etc.) to develop strategy and drive enablement and execution.
  • Serve as a proxy for the Vice Presidents of GDC as a leadership advocate within the team and across Google. Serve as a partner on initiatives around product excellence and organizational effectiveness.
