About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Security and Privacy organization is driven by a singular mission to Protect, Respect, and Defend our users, Googlers, and the internet. As users entrust us with their most sensitive data, we meet that trust with a commitment to outpace increasingly sophisticated global threats. Within the Detection and Response (D&R) team, we analyze, detect, and neutralize these threats with relentless vigor.

As a Technical Program Manager in this group, you will support security operations by driving execution excellence. Your role is pivotal in ensuring accountability, providing transparency to leadership, and maintaining a culture of continuous delivery in a high-stakes environment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of complex security programs, from planning and prioritization to delivery and maintenance.
  • Act as a central point of contact for cross-functional engineering, product, and research teams, ensuring alignment on program goals, timelines, and deliverables, regularly communicate program status, risks, and impact to stakeholders and leadership, fostering transparency and trust.
  • Partner with technical leads to translate high-level security objectives into actionable technical roadmaps and project plans.
  • Monitor program health using data-driven metrics, proactively identifying roadblocks, and driving resolution to ensure adherence to milestones and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)/Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  • Identify opportunities to streamline engineering workflows, automate manual tasks, and improve overall operational efficiency across the D&R organization.
