Director, Product Management, Google Compute Engine

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience managing and leading product management and marketing teams.
  • 10 years of experience as a people manager in Product Management.
  • Experience operating in a global role or on a global scale.
  • Experience building software and distributed systems or developer tools.
  • Experience with Enterprise Cloud and product management leadership.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience leading product management for control plane for an infrastructure offering.
  • Experience leading product management for control plane in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to define and prioritize the product roadmap towards the Northstar vision, balancing agility, time to market, innovation and tech debt reduction.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and communicate a powerful long-term vision and strategy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear product requirements.
  • Excellent communication, people, and presentation skills.

About the job

As the Director of Product Management you will lead the control plane, managed infrastructure, automation, and consumption product areas for Google Cloud Engine (GCE). The products this team builds, enable customers to run their business-critical workloads at scale, with automation, optimal economics, and great resilience.

This role requires a technical leadership on topics including user experience, spend optimization, managed infrastructure, autoscaling, reliability, security, compliance, API evolution, and infra management. You will be responsible for leading a team of product managers to develop and execute product strategies that address the complex challenges of building the product portfolio and surfaces that customers use. By leading this product team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on how Google Cloud exposes and monetizes its largest service offerings.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $253,000-$363,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive Northstar Vision for consumption products, automation, and control plane in the context of rapidly evolving AI use cases and workloads.
  • Lead innovation as the customer facing convergence point.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, research, and infrastructure teams to drive execution.
  • Collaborate closely with first-party services and other GCP teams to understand requirements and drive the platform roadmap.
  • Monitor product performance metrics, manage and balance customer growth, growth, and bottom line health.
