Senior UX Writer and Content Designer

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in UX writing, content design, technical writing, writing, editorial, marketing, or related, as well as leading content strategy projects.
  • Experience on UX-focused product writing and shaping content for multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with AI prompt writing/Model UX.
  • Experience with localization and accessibility best practices.
  • Experience shaping content design in complex workflows and understanding unique product constraints.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including legal and 3P teams, by managing feedback, aligning large groups, and communicating rationale effectively.
  • Ability to provide both strategic direction and UX writing to create clear, concise user experiences across multiple platforms and a large ecosystem.

As a Senior UX Writer and Content Designer for Android & Pixel, you will help shape the future of our mobile operating system and devices. You’ll employ craft, empathy, logic, and data to inform writing choices and create a unified voice across the Android ecosystem. You’ll help establish the vision for content and drive cohesive product narratives. You’ll partner with individuals in a variety of UX-related jobs, including designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers to concept, design, test, and deliver user experiences that are distinctively Google: helpful, useful, and trusted.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$209,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead content design for key workstreams, scope opportunities, define the direction, and deliver high-quality UX deliverables that shape product roadmaps and experiences.
  • Drive UX content design frameworks, including principles and patterns.
  • Bring clarity to ambiguous product problems, shaping them into UX solutions.
  • Influence UX and cross-functional partnerships to align stakeholder expectations, drive understanding and alignment, and advocate for user-centric content experiences.
  • Influence the development of priorities across projects to balance tactical and strategic efforts in alignment with larger project goals.
