About the job

YouTube is the first place people go to discover new content and music, be it on their phones, televisions, home's connected speakers, or the smartwatches. The YouTube Music & Podcasts team helps users discover and enjoy the world's best music and show content - official songs, albums, videos, live events/recordings, podcasts, and shows. We believe great listening experiences are a universal need and our job is to connect fans to their favorite artists and creators in ways that benefit the world.

As the UX Director for YouTube Music & Podcasts, you will be responsible for managing YouTube's most critical content vertical's experiences. The role requires thinking through the unique challenges of designing at scale across users and a myriad of platforms. You will lead a team to deliver high-impact, user-centered experiences and make key decisions on vision, strategy, and execution for complex, multi-quarter projects. You'll drive the development and execution of a comprehensive UX strategy and vision for a product area, ensuring it aligns with long-term business goals. Your role involves influencing cross-organizational collaborations, managing teams, and acting as a recognized internal expert to raise the bar for UX expertise across the organization.

At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together.
