Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of interaction design experience in product design or UX Design.

From creating user flows and wireframes to building mockups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined, and magical feel. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

As part of the Local UX team, you will be a key player in transforming Google Search from a reactive utility into a proactive local assistant. This includes reimagining how users discover and interact with local verticals like food, lifestyle, and home services through AI-driven experiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000-$155,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Help communicate design approach to other designers or partners (e.g., product manager).
  • Create design specifications (e.g., design specs, mock-ups, or product models) for implementation.
  • Identify innovative design solutions to user, product, and business problems; respond to evolving design constraints.
  • Apply essential design principles, patterns, and systems, use design tools and processes to help develop mock-ups or prototypes; Identify product or platform requirements; Follow well-defined design templates, style guides, and accessibility guidelines.
  • Identify design solutions based on user insights, business needs, and industry trends that help achieve business objectives.
