Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing or product development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a technical lead for an electrical hardware engineering project.
  • Experience in product data management (e.g. Agile), PCBA, box/system manufacturing, test, and product qualification in the factory, PCBA troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and reading and understanding electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge or experience working with manufacturers in electrical circuit troubleshooting, board in-circuit testing, functional testing, system testing failures investigation, and PCBA/integrated hardware manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of PCBA and of electronics system hardware block diagrams and testing.
  • Ability to generate BOM, product-specific test plans, and evaluate test coverage.

As a Product Engineer within Global Manufacturing Engineering (GME), you will primary provide sustaining support for mass production products at the Contract Manufacturer (CM)/Joint Development Manufacturer (JDM), including driving production factory readiness for product changes, supporting component qualification, providing training, and making sure that the desired product performance and requirements are met and maintained through resolving systemic product manufacturing issues and driving continuous improvement in product health.

In this role, you will engage in New Product Introduction (NPI) by consolidating GME input on Design for Manufacturability (DFM)/Design for Testing (DFT), FMEA items, and yield issues to be provided to the NPI team for resolution in order to meet the Product Life Cycle (PLC) phase exit criteria.

Responsibilities

  • Govern the product and test requirements for sustaining products.
  • Lead NPI early engagement to drive deliverables (e.g., Bill of Materials (BOM) readiness and multi-sourcing, First Pass Yield, manufacturing capabilities, FMEA, Design for Excellence, SOP, failure diagnostics, etc.) to meet production requirements.
  • Support product and component qualification builds at CMs/JDMs. Drive factory readiness and provide product training. Support second source part qualification. Coordinate release of BOMs.
  • Lead technical risk assessment for product changes, supply chain capabilities and impact to downstream. Work with Product/Production Quality Engineers (PQE) to validate product qualification plans. Work with CM and PQE to highlight risks and develop mitigation plans. Monitor and manage risk throughout the change process.
  • Drive the product functional failures reduction, improve first pass yield at CM/JDM and reduce Return Materials/Merchandise Authorization (RMA) from data centers.
