- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in marketing within the mobile or online digital music content industry.
- Experience with digital programming processes and creative content.
- Experience working with external and internal partners on co-promotion or cross-promotion strategies and campaigns.
- Experience working with product and engineering teams at a digital app, website, or record label.
- Experience identifying emerging musical talent/trends, exploring emerging trends, and working with record labels, publishers, artists, and content owners.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with a variety of digital music formats including short form video.
- Experience working with external and internal partners on co-promotion or cross-promotion strategies and campaigns.
- Experience with product management and product strategy.
- Ability to craft messaging and work with design and production resources to drive creative execution.
- Ability to analyze research or performance data and apply that analysis to optimize programming strategy. Excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, work on multiple projects in a dynamic/constantly-changing context, and build partnerships.

Music and Podcasts Content Strategy (MPCS) focuses on developing a deep understanding of latest content and consumption trends in music across the YouTube ecosystem. Using these insights and their music culture expertise, Music and Podcasts Content Strategy powers music experiences to grow discovery, consumption, creation, and participation by fans and creators using music, and to help artists build successful careers on YouTube.
We are looking for a new team member to join the Music and Podcasts Content Strategy team in North America. With deep music culture expertise, they will contribute to the country’s music and podcasts content strategy for YouTube.
In this role, you will work on YouTube's Music programs across a variety of surfaces and formats. Leveraging your culture and content expertise, coupled with analytical chops, you will help shape and land YouTube’s products, and continue to grow YouTube’s relevance and reach with music fans.
You will partner closely with the global Music and Podcasts Content Strategy leadership team, and cross-functional stakeholders including product, engineering, design, marketing, artist and label partnerships, and others to develop and grow impactful content features and scalable programming.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to YouTube’s music and podcast content strategy for North America, and bring cultural, music, and market expertise to enable product and feature development and launches in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Execute on an annual programming calendar for music on all YouTube’s programmed surfaces.
- Work with internal and external partnerships teams to develop and launch content and promotions.
- Work with product, music, and marketing teams to provide content intelligence that can inform their strategies and collaborations.
- Develop metric-based insights on music content strategy and specific programming campaigns in the US, and provide recommendations for enhancing their effectiveness.
