  • Experience working in Latin America.
  • Understanding of how to engage with government officials and internationally-focused U.S. government institutions, trade associations, and think tanks.
  • Ability to multi-task and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent personal, political, investigative and communication skills.

About the job

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you'll be part of a diverse global government affairs team, working across regions, product areas, and functions. You’ll combine creativity and intellectual excellence with the organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives. In this role, you’ll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction. You're passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of how we use and build technology for everyone.

In this role, you will be involved managing strategic partnerships with foreign policy think tanks and third parties, ensuring seamless collaboration and impactful engagement. You will coordinate Google expert participation in high-level events, prepare executive briefings for meetings with US government stakeholders (e.g., State Department, NSC), and track relevant publications. You'll collaborate with the International Organizations team to advance Google's AI and Cloud solutions at institutions like the World Bank and IMF, supporting executive engagements and coordinating participation in major events.

Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000-$158,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage partnerships with foreign policy third parties (e.g., think tanks in Washington, D.C., tracking accountability and consistency with Google’s public policy priorities).
  • Lead in coordinating preparation of internal briefing documents for executives meeting with US foreign policy stakeholders (e.g., State Department, National Security Council) with assistance from relevant internal experts.
  • Work with the International Organizations team to support work with the World Bank and IMF.
  • Support the team including helping arrange events/logistics for foreign policy focused events hosted at the Google DC office by Google in Washington, D.C., managing the team budget, inputting engagements into an internal tracking system.
  • Advocate for AI and Cloud solutions aligned with priorities. Ensure Google's participation in key policy discussions and events.
