Minimum qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in a clinical field (e.g. MD, PsyD, PhD, etc.).
  • 5 years of experience in consumer-focused digital health product development focused on consumer health or experience building and evaluating digital products in an academic setting.
  • 4 years of post-training clinical experience.
  • 3 years of experience driving projects of high complexity, in environments with cross-functional teams.
  • 1 year of experience with AI in a health/healthcare setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with generative AI, inducing safety approaches and peer reviewed publications.
  • Experience taking a consumer focused mental health or wellbeing product from concept to market.
  • Experience in digital health evaluation and clinical research including designing and conducting real world evaluations.
  • Experience working in an ambiguous environments with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Recognition as a national or emerging national leader in mental health and AI.

About the job

As a clinical specialist, you will be an effective and influential contributor to our work developing intelligent and intuitive tools that help improve health journeys for users. You will utilize the clinical ability, excellent listening, communication, and leadership skills to appropriately shape the content, design, and execution of products. You will also work cross-functionally, with non-clinical teams such as software design, engineering, product management, regulatory affairs and research teams. You will work as a healthcare professional in your field with recognised experience in clinical care and research specific to youth mental health. In addition, you will have experience with consumer focused product development, generative AI and specifically safety approaches, conducting clinical research, and be nationally recognized as a thought leader or emerging leader in mental health.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $146,000-$214,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Use your mental health experience and to plan and execute projects supporting mental health efforts across products.
  • Support and drive partnership efforts with external experts and organizations in the service of business priorities.
  • Serve as an internal and external voice for Google’s work in the area of mental health.
  • Develop an understanding for mental health and healthcare environment and ecosystem, and translate this understanding into user-focused product requirements.
  • Identify relevant evidence-based practices, related to mental health and healthcare of patients and their families, and use the scientific literature to influence product and internal policy development.
