About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Create, define, and improve the processes for engaging with both first-party and third-party developers, communicating critical information about new Android features, behavior changes, and compatibility requirements.
  • Own and deliver the comprehensive Plan of Record (POR) for developer outreach, ensuring it is a guide for all Google and Android teams needing to communicate with developers.
  • Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current Android app compatibility testing and tooling, design, advocate for, and implement innovative solutions to streamline workflows, enhance automation, data collection, and reporting, and explore opportunities to leverage AI/ML to transform testing, save costs, and improve bug triage processes.
  • Work with Android Engineering, Product Management, and Developer Relations teams to understand new features, identify potential compatibility challenges, and contribute to the development of testing strategies and tools.
