UX Researcher III, Governance and Protected Data - São Paulo

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science,
    Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field, or equivalent
    practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar.
  • 4 years of experience in an applied research setting or similar.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in internal Privacy, Security or Governance space.
  • Experience applying a range of research methodologies (e.g. interviews, focus groups, field and lab studies, diary study and surveys) and a strong understanding of their strengths/limitations.
  • Skilled in qualitative and mixed methods research including but not limited to survey design, statistical analysis, interviews and usability studies.
  • Strong evidence of strategic impact across product areas.

Governance & Protected Data is a team at Google that proactively develops solutions to manage Google's technical risk at scale. We mitigate risks related to data governance and protection. It provides resources, policies, and programs focused on protected data, including a Tech Policy, a Reliability Program, and resources for the PD Team itself.

We’re looking to hire a mixed-method UX Researcher to lead the Wickie suite of tools in Protected Data of PSS. Wickie is a suite of internal Google tools designed to support Partner Agents (PAs) and other Googlers in managing policy compliance and enforcement It helps streamline workflows related to policy readiness, rollout, and diagnosing enforcement-related issues.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct research end-to-end with minimal supervision (scoping, execution, reporting).
  • Derive foundational and tactical user insights using various methods, including designing, running, and analyzing survey data.
  • Analyze, synthesize, and interpret study findings into key insights for cross-functional stakeholders, delivering them clearly and compellingly.
  • Collaborate closely with UX Design, Product Management, and Engineering to inform product direction and decisions.
  • Proactively create long-term research roadmaps aligned with broader business objectives.
