Technical Program Manager, Android Connectivity

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience working with global carriers and vendors in the telecommunications industry.
  • Experience in networking technologies like Wifi, or other core networking stacks.
  • Experience in data analysis, and working with Engineering teams to define and track metrics.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in driving cross-Product Area (PA) programs.
  • Ability to work in a highly complex, and always changing environment.
  • Excellent influencing, team management, and delivery skills.
  • Excellent investigative, problem-solving, and organizational skills, and attention to details.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Involvement in complete software development lifecycle from ideation to post-release of performance and power optimized offload capable experience providing the basis for a Better Together platform. 
  • Collaborate with teams within Android and Google as well as partner with strategic partners to define, implement, and launch a unified solution that works across all user devices, including Android phones, wearables, tablets and ChromeOS devices.
  • Develop and seek out necessary schedule inputs, and a solid defensible plan for release and keep the team tracking to it. 
  • Oversee the creation of new processes/tools to support scalability and requirements of a fast growing business with focus on highest quality and stringent market timelines.
  • Advocate metrics and drive consistent adoption across the organization of aligning user experience, quality and testing to be data driven and measurable.
