Customer Engineer Sovereignty Specialist, Google Cloud (German)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture and positioning and selling cloud solutions in regulated industries such as Government or Financial Services.
  • Experience in security matters (application security, identity, access management systems, confidential computing, risk management, etc.), regulatory, compliance, and privacy frameworks, and working with sovereignty partners.
  • Experience in Infrastructure Modernization, Application Modernization, Security, Data Management, or Smart Analytics.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Ability to communicate in German fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience engaging with various stakeholders (C-level to technical engineering) and major customers.
  • Experience as a security sales engineer in a cloud computing environment, or in a customer/partner-facing role.
  • Experience at regulatory bodies or participation in formation of regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in regulated markets for multinational companies and jurisdictions.
  • Understanding of the current sovereignty landscape in Europe.
  • Knowledge of security, compliance, and privacy.

As a Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical Sales teams as a Security and Compliance subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud for the customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks related to technical security and compliance. You will engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and persuasively present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will partner with internal engineering stakeholders to improve products and build solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Be a local sovereignty advocate on technical topics and the local field interface to Engineering teams.
  • Own technical conversations with major customers and manage the relationship with these customers and executive stakeholders.
  • Partner with cross-functional Google teams to represent Google Cloud to a variety of customers.
  • Work with Google Cloud leadership on technical strategy updates.
  • Support regulatory engagements on technical matters and be the technical owner on key sovereignty customer engagements.
