Strategic Partner Development Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in the mobile industry's ecosystem, products, and services (in particular, SMS, MMS, RCS, RBM, voice and messaging technologies, devices and device architecture, mobile networks, and communications platforms).
  • Experience operating with flexibility in a fast-paced, always-on, constantly evolving and collaborative environment and work effectively cross-functionally with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
  • Experience working with VP+ executives down to individual product management, engineering and business development partners.
  • Ability to negotiate term sheets and agreements, interpret legal documents, and work with attorneys on specific contract language.

About the job

Android and Business Communications (ABC) has a mission to help end users and businesses meaningfully connect on any device across messaging and voice through our Google Messages and Google Phone app. The ABC Product Carrier and Product Partnerships team is responsible for managing strategic partnerships and business development activities with mobile operators and OEMs globally to execute on ABC’s product strategy. Our team works in close collaboration with partner engineering, product management, engineering, and the Android carrier partnerships team.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mobile operator partner relationships across messaging and voice in Latin America, with a focus on Brazil and Mexico, in collaboration with partner executives and cross-functional teams across Partnerships, Go-to-Market, Product, Engineering, Legal, Policy, Marketing and Finance.
  • Develop efforts with Carriers and other ecosystem partners in LATAM to drive awareness, distribution and growth for Google’s communications products and services including Rich Communications Services (RCS), RCS for Business, and Dialer.
  • Work in tight collaboration with the Android Carrier Partnerships team across LATAM to ensure ABC Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) are met in collaboration with the carrier teams.
  • Drive and execute action plans for distribution of Google Messages app, working with Mobile carriers executives, Marketing, Legal, Product and Sales teams.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to accelerate Messages/RCS/Results Based Management (RBM) usage.
