Deals Manager, Global Media Partnerships, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in media industry agreement negotiation.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Experience working with executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience in content distribution, business affairs, or carriage and distribution negotiations within the media or video programming industry.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
  • Experience in discussing distribution agreements for linear cable television, broadcast stations, direct-to-consumer offerings, and advertiser supported content.
  • Experience escalating and presenting key issues and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, structure agreements, and work with legal teams to sign and manage agreements.
  • Excellent communication, and presentation skills with the ability to operate with flexibility in a fluid, constantly evolving and collaborative environment.

About the job

As Global Media Partnerships, Deals Manager, you will discuss and manage agreements for partnerships with media companies, studios and sports properties across YouTube TV, Primetime Channels and YouTube Main. You will make YouTube the essential platform for viewing content from media partners by managing meaningful business and distribution. You will be responsible for sourcing, discussing and closing distribution agreements with media and entertainment companies for YouTube’s subscription video businesses, as well as distributing ad-supported content across YouTube’s multiple formats and platforms to fuel those partners' core businesses.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Discuss partnerships for YouTube’s Advertising Video on Demand (AVOD), Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD), Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD), Pay-Per-View (PPV), Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST), and Pay Television services.
  • Contribute to a team that drives the success of YouTube’s Global Media partnerships, while supporting a culture that encourages creative thinking and risk taking.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with a broad range of constituents, particularly in product, finance, marketing, and legal, as well as with external partners.
  • Leverage industry experience to negotiate agreements in alignment with cross-functional priorities.
  • Understand industry trends and market insights to adjust to changing circumstances.
