Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience working in a power converter design technical environment including AC/DC, DC/DC or DC/AC converter design for data center power delivery system, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of power converter modeling and simulation and relevant experience in data center power system design or battery backup system design.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python/Perl.
- Familiarity with basic power electronic laboratory measurement techniques and equipment, such as oscilloscopes, Data Acquisition
(DAQ) systems, and high power supplies or loads. - Excellent investigative and organizational skills, with a well-focused attention to detail, communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional project teams.

As a Hardware Engineer, you will design and build the systems that are the world's largest and most impactful computing infrastructure. You will develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. You will shape the machinery that goes into data centers affecting millions of Google users.
You will play a key role in the development of one of the world's fastest growing computing infrastructures. You will work as part of a team to deliver power solutions for data center computing applications.
Responsibilities
- Innovate and design on rack and data center power conversion specifications and solutions including AC/DC rectifier, power shelf, PDU (power distribution unit), battery backup system, etc. Analyze performance, cost, reliability and availability trade-offs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and partner with power industry leaders to evaluate and adopt the most compelling, technologies.
- Lead projects that involve new technologies or new uses of multiple existing technologies.
- Engage cross functionally to ensure successful roll-out, testing and complete validation.
