Head of Business Operations and Strategy, Global Partnerships

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in a management consulting, sales operations, business strategy or corporate advisory role.
  • 5 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.
  • People management or similar experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or graduate degree.
  • 13 years of experience in a management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, or corporate advisory role.
  • Experience leading and managing high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation, accountability, and high performance, with a proven ability to develop and inspire talent.
  • Deep expertise in multiple critical business areas, with a strong understanding of the broader industry and competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and ability to influence direction and strategy at the executive level.
  • Proven track record of owning decision-making and execution for large, complex projects across multiple teams and business/product areas.

About the job

The Global Partnerships (GP) Business Operations & Strategy team is the engine that drives GP’s operational excellence and evolution. The team not only manages GP’s central operations, covering everything from GP annual planning, to OKRs, organizational health initiatives, headcount allocations and executive leadership forums, but also proactively identifies and executes strategic initiatives to further advance and transform our global business. In addition, the team provides chief of staff type services for partnerships solutions.

In this role, you will work closely with senior leaders across GP and Global Business Organization (GBO), including the President of Global Partnerships and the VP of Partnerships Solutions, to operationalize their business strategy and ensure its successful delivery.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $234,000-$326,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end annual and long-range planning process for the Global Partnerships Organization. Define core strategic narratives, oversee the OKR setting and scoring process, and manage quarterly performance reporting.
  • Oversee the principled approach to headcount (HC) allocations, organization health standards, payroll budgets, and hiring guardrails. 
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the VP of Partnerships Solutions and the Managing Director of GP & Top Partners Strategy & Operations, challenging assumptions and bringing data-driven insights to inform executive decision-making.
  • Act as a central point of contact between GP and key cross-functional teams, including people operations, finance, and communications. 
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team, establishing this group as the center of excellence for business operations within GP.
