Games Marketing Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience in marketing working across one or more marketing fields (i.e. growth, product marketing, digital marketing, digital merchandising)
  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in growth marketing or product marketing, ideally on a consumer product at scale
  • Experience successfully partnering with Product Managers, Engineers and UX designers to drive business strategy
  • Experience in push marketing (email/notifications)/CRM and Gaming, mobile, loyalty programs or e-commerce
  • Excellent creative, design and copywriting/editorial skills with an understanding of how to target messaging and visuals to market and channel
  • Track record of creative problem solving and bias towards action and analytical capabilities, with strong quantitative reasoning, creativity, and strategic skills

About the job

Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the representation of the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.

As part of the Games Go-To-Market team, this role is focused on our multiplatform gaming efforts, Google Play Games for PC. As a Marketing Manager for multiplatform gaming, you will be responsible for setting GTM strategies for a rapidly growing consumer business. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, strategy, finance, business development and other teams to create and execute global GTM plans that will scale the business.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for growth marketing efforts via key CRM channels. You’ll utilize notifications and email channels to create compelling engagement campaigns for our most valuable users and test and iterate to identify opportunities to drive significant impact. In addition, you’ll partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to improve our CRM capabilities to drive more reach, engagement, and optimization of our communication channels.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Define Go-To-Market strategies and plans, including value proposition, lifecycle, promotion, and content strategies.
  • Own the planning and execution of compelling, scalable, and relevant content experiences to deepen our relationship with users.
  • Evaluate opportunities to improve performance of campaigns and experiences, sharing insights and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Work with a cross-functional group to design and execute detailed plans, operating across marketing disciplines including branding, outbound marketing, merchandising, CRM, and growth marketing.
  • Define success metrics and targets, monitor success, and guide the team in adjusting strategies based on insights. Work with a team to scale the business.
