Senior Financial Analyst

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), consulting, a related function, or an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with investment banking/portfolio management.
  • Proven quantitative analytical skills and experience with spreadsheets, databases, and analytical toolsets is essential (SQL, PLX).
  • Knowledge of R&D finance functions and processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver multiple projects to a very high level of quality and accuracy, and a high tolerance for ambiguity and change.
  • Great leadership and people skills, and ability to take charge, set objectives, and drive results while building long-term relationships across organizational boundaries with all levels of seniority.

As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

Our team seeks to enable and empower Google's Engineering and Infrastructure leaders to steer the technology and R&D roadmap towards financially optimal outcomes via scalable processes, quantitative analysis, strong Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) governance, and the translation of complexities into actionable insights.

ITIA Finance increasingly informs the roadmap for Google's cutting edge infrastructure technologies, and we are excited to welcome a strong financial analyst to help us prioritize across Google's complex technology roadmap, lead transformational projects, and drive/develop key novel metrics.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop multi-year financial projections and associated ROI calculations for new technology programs on an ad hoc basis.
  • Partner with finance and the business during annual planning activities, and ensure portfolio strategy is maintained throughout ZBB and OpEx planning.
  • Evaluate portfolio resources, headcount, and non payroll opex for potential allocation/re-allocation to the highest priority programs.
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio strategy for the business to manage and prioritize its portfolio of investments.
  • Build relationships across the Technical Infrastructure organization to understand the technical, strategic, and financial aspects of programs within the entire portfolio.
