Portfolio Management Lead, Energy and Location Strategy

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 14 years of experience leading negotiations or business development.
  • Experience in people management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing highly complex global industrial real estate portfolios for large multinational corporations.
  • Experience executing large-scale site selection or asset delivery.
  • Experience with vendor engagement, real estate evaluation, acquisition, development, construction, utility contracts, economic development incentives, legislative initiatives, taxation.
  • Familiarity with industrial power transmission and distribution, telecommunications infrastructure, industrial class electrical and cooling technology, or other related areas of technical expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to think "outside the box", come up with commercially and technically creative solutions, comfort working independently and thinking dynamically, while leading cross-functional strategic efforts.

As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating deals, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting deal recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of APAC Portfolio Managers responsible for managing a portfolio of sites to ensure the business is prepared to deliver capacity in APAC, whenever and wherever Google requires it.
  • Lead the APAC Portfolio Management team on project management, stakeholder negotiations, expansion support, and integration of lessons learned into the end-to-end site selection and delivery process.
  • Ensure alignment and delivery are consistent with APAC regional and sub-regional plans, priorities, and execution plans. Uphold standards, processes, policies, procedures, and rules to support project objectives. 
  • Manage relationships with internal teams/stakeholders involved in data center capacity delivery in the region (e.g., ELS stakeholders, FEP, DCS, ExE, DC-Supply planning, etc.).
  • Track portfolio deliverables and milestones, ensuring the successful delivery of campuses and sites. Lead the implementation of regional portfolio standards and priorities, along with strategic initiatives.
