Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in construction project/program management, including cost, schedule, scope, and risk management.
  • Experience in utility infrastructure delivery, such as power, water, and roadways.
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time within the NA region as required.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
  • Experience in the data center or related industries.
  • Experience leading large cross-functional teams with strong communication skills.
  • Excellent prioritization skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Offsite Infrastructure Delivery and Controls (OIDC) team was created to globally define, deliver, and maintain project management and project controls standards to enable scalable delivery of power/water/wastewater/civil infrastructure for which is responsible to our owned assets in the portfolio. OIDC is also responsible for maintaining best practices and documenting project status in one place ensuring projects are completed safely, on-time, in-scope, and within budget.

As a Technical Program Manager for OIDC, you will be responsible and accountable for delivery of a portfolio of capital infrastructure projects across the North America (NA)-Central Region. Typical projects include offsite power cabling, water treatment plants, access roads, and may include projects directly contracted by Google or projects contracted for/constructed via third-party (e.g., municipality, utility) for Google’s benefit/use. You will be responsible for a contracted workforce who will track, manage or deliver cost/scope/schedule for multiple infrastructure projects throughout the region.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,000-$237,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Be accountable for the safe, on-time, on-budget delivery of all projects in the NA-Central region, following all required processes and procedures as required by the OIDC program lead.
  • Escalate all project issues to appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for the accuracy of and updates to project level data within enterprise tools (e.g., quickbase database).
  • Plan and forecast for the NA-Central region into a global OIDC capital plan.
  • Engage effectively and collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders including acquisition and development teams.
