Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in product design or UX.
- 5 years of experience designing for video editing and mobile products or 4 years of experience designing consumer product experiences.

Preferred qualifications:
- 12 years of experience in product design or UX.
- 5 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
- Experience designing for video editing and mobile products.
- Skilled and flexible when operating in a fast-paced, constantly evolving and collaborative environment.
- Proven track record of designing for consumer product experiences across complex projects.
About the job
At Google, we "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Our Visual Designers weave space, typography, color, and iconography to help people successfully navigate our products, ensuring they are beautiful and accessible. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, to leverage user insights and create industry-leading products.
As a Visual Designer, you will rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution. You will collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.
Responsibilities
- Establish visual strategies that reinforce user-centered mental models for new features (including visual branding/identity and motion design).
- Reimagine Shorts surfaces and experiences by leveraging and evolving YouTube’s design system in partnership with YouTube’s central design system team.
- Create beautiful visual designs within technical constraints and demonstrate the direction with prototypes.
- Provide direction to UX designers and develop visual design frameworks that can be leveraged by UX designers.
- Drive design solutions based on user insights, business needs, and industry trends that further business outcomes.
