Product Manager, Chrome AI Modeling

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 1 year of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, 0 to 1, etc.).
  • 1 year of experience with one or more of the following: generative AI, large language modeling, reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), recommendation systems, or specialization in another ML field.
  • Experience developing or launching products or technologies within artificial intelligence or machine learning (AI/ML).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 2 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.
  • 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 1 year of experience in software development or engineering.
  • Knowledge or interest in building accessibility best practices, with experience incorporating accessibility into product development methodologies.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

Chrome is re-imaging itself as a trusted AI partner for the web. The team's mission is to build high-quality, reliable, and low-latency models that power safe and secure AI features in Chrome. We achieve this by specializing in model tuning, context engineering, and architecture to deliver a positive, web-optimized AI experience.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead a clear product idea and roadmap for improving the quality of AI-powered web browsing journeys.
  • Lead the transition from human-based reviews to a scalable evaluation system that combines auto-evals with human insights.
  • Develop product requirements by synthesizing user feedback, log analysis, and AI model performance metrics.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Research, UX, Legal, etc.) to design, implement, and launch innovative features. Drive the operationalization of model improvements with vendors and partners.
  • Drive the strategy for AI quality infrastructure, creating a cycle where real-world usage logs automatically refine the evaluation datasets.
